The Top 10 New Year's Resolutions for Vloggers and Bloggers for 2014 !

So it's 2014, we made it through another trip around the sun without dieing, congradulations.  But how much did you accomplish?  I accomplished everything I wanted!  If your like me, you accomplished everything you wanted your answer to that question is: "not enough!"  So you probably have some designs to make this year more productive than last year.  No matter how much we get done however, we always want to do even better.  Here is a list of the top 10 New Year's resolutions for vloggers and bloggers for 2014:

1. Respond to Every Tweet and Comment

2. Post More Often

3. Network Everyday

3. Create a Blogroll or Clean Yours Out

4. Fix Sidebar and Any Broken Links

5. Learn Something New  

6. Try a New Monetization Method

7. Try a New Promotion Method  

9. Renovate Your Blog! Get a New Theme/Appearance  

10. Improve Your Blog's Functionality

Notice that I formatted the text of that list so that the first three stand out more.  That wasn't an accident.  Although everything on that list would be a good goal and improvement for your blog or vlog, the first three are what I consider habits that can literally change the game for you THIS very year.  Especially the first and third.  Interacting with others is how we cultivate a dedicated fanbase.  Taking the time to respond to tweets and comments is the best way to do this, and try to ask them a question too, try to keep the conversation going for at least a few exchanges.  And taking the time to find useful people to network with and then doing it is absolutely crucial.  It can be tempting to focus on bells and whistles but the highest leverage use of your time is usually going to be networking.

What Is YouTube?

YouTube is a social media and content sharing site.  It was founded on a strong community aspect, and creator Jawed Karim has spoken often about how he had always believed it would be the community that would drive the site but the he never in his wildest dreams could have imagined the WAYS in which they would use it.  The "video response" for example is a trend started by users which was not initially a feature of the site, but later was built in.

Anybody with a camera and an internet connection can make videos for YouTube, and many post regular or recurring videos often times on a relatively consistent basis.  Free video hosting, widespread access to video editing technology, and inexpensive cameras has resulted in many users creating their own amature "shows" on YouTube.  The surprising thing is that the production value is often quite high even though what your watching 90% of the time is made by a person with no industry training whatsoever, and the shows feel personal and genuine especially because of the fact that viewers can comment and interact with the creator.  There's just something so cool about watching a video that was scripted, filmed, editied, and staring all by one person.

First she made the top 2,000 most subscribed, a few months ago she got hired as a D.J. at her local radio station, and just this week she interviewed rap artist B.O.B. and even traded sun glasses w/him!

I've been watching her for a long time and am happy things are working out so well for her because she's a riot.  Such a d0rk!
